Carlow Volunteer Centre has concluded the happenings for National Volunteer Week 2018 with their annual Thank You Event in the Seven Oaks Hotel on Friday 18th May. This event embodies all the gratitude our communities have for the volunteers who dedicate their time and effort to contribute to local organisations’ efforts to help those in need. Without these volunteers a lot of organisations would not be able to operate and provide the quality of service that they do.

The event was kindly sponsored by UNUM who treated over 220 volunteers to scones, cakes and a cuppa while enjoying an inspiring and thought provoking speeches by

Fr Peter McVerry (Fr McVerry Trust)

Cllr. William Paton, Cathaoirleach,

Oliver McKenna, M.D. UNUM Ireland

John McGuinness, TD

Carlow Volunteer Centre are delighted to have this wonderful opportunity to thank all the volunteers and community groups for supporting the event as well as continuing their contributions to the welfare of local communities in Carlow county. In 2017, volunteers registered with Carlow Volunteer Centre, contributed almost 15,000 hours volunteering in Carlow which represents an economic gift of over €300,000.
